The Business

Play The Game Limited has been formed as a game development, manufacturing, marketing and events company. 


The first intellectual property it will exploit is CONVOY The Card Strategy Game™.


CONVOY The Card Strategy Game™, is an easy to learn and play table game developed by Bernard Sparkes (CEO). The game is based on a very old East Midlands ‘English’ pub game called “One-eyed Jack” or its other name “Jack off”. The creator has already developed one version of the game and has sold this as a retail product and run events in the United Kingdom, Ireland, France & Spain. A number of game sets have also been exported to the United States of America.


The business will have six main areas: -

  1. Retail/wholesale/Corporate gift, game sets – produced in a number of different versions & editions.
  2. In house Events - pubs, clubs, corporate, tournaments, charity fundraisers & many others.
  3. Franchise opportunities.
  4. Charity Game Sets – A unique marketing opportunity for businesses that will also raise funds for good causes at the same time.
  5. Online/Mobile/Metaverse – digital versions of the game on various platforms.
  6. Gaming – land based and online casino/gaming industry.

The Offer

The Company is offering up to 125,000 new A ordinary shares of 1p at a subscription price of £2.00 per share to raise £250,000.

  • Minimum Individual Investment £100 gross (£50 net) for 50 shares thereafter in multiples of £10 gross (£5 net) for 5 shares
  • Maximum Individual Investment £100,000 gross (£50,000 net) for 50,000 shares, unless with prior agreement of the directors.
  • The investment is intended to be SEIS qualifying.
  • The £250,000 gross (net of income tax £125,000) will secure 12.5% of the voting rights in the Company.
  • The Ordinary shares will be divided into 2 classes: A Ordinary shares and B Ordinary shares.
  • All investors will be issued A Ordinary shares, with B Ordinary shares being issued to the founders and/or those associated with the business.
  • A Ordinary and B Ordinary shares will be equal in respect to each other having one vote per share, and no Ordinary shares will have any  preference in the event of winding up of the business.
  • With respect to entitlement to distributions of capital and or income,  A Ordinary shares will be entitled to 90% of any  distributions and B Ordinary Shares 10% until each A Ordinary share has received back an aggregate  total distributions of  at least £2.00 per share. Above this level of return,  the A Ordinary shares as a class will receive 10% of all distributions of capital and or income, without limit,  and the B shares 90%.

Use of Funds

£15,000 Cost of funds, marketing allowance, Basic set up bookkeeping, PAYE.

£10,000 Office and premises costs.(12 months)

£60,000 General general admin, salaries,insurances  and expenses (12 months)

£25,000 stock Purchase, games, manufacturing 1000 standard 20 bespoke games.

£25,000 Branding and Licencing, protection legal fees 

£15,000 computers equipment , website design and maintenance, social media campaigns. 

£20,000 password less entry, cybersecurity and UX 

£20,000 development & build out of "metaverse gaming rooms" for single & multpilayer

£20,000 New Game Development

£25,000 Marketing promotions and events

£15,000 Contingency

Bernard is the creator of CONVOY™ THE CARD STRATEGY GAME. 


Bernard Sparkes, A man of many hats…

Film/TV Producer, Author, IP Creator, Executive Producer, Reality TV & Documentary Contributor, TV/Film Actor, Game Developer, Entrepreneur, Start-up Investor, Public Speaker & Voiceover Artist.

Bernard was born in London in the late 1960's but his formative years were spent growing up in Yorkshire.  During his life he has had a varied career from stacking shelves in a local supermarket at the age of 13, the youngest member of the management team for Comet (the electrical retail group) at 17, the Police force in both West Yorkshire & Lancashire, a pioneer in the early stages of the internet/modern telecoms/web marketing, co-creator of a children's animation and book, actor. Giving back has been a large part of Bernard’s life supporting a number of causes over the years including Autism charities, Air Ambulances and the RNLI….
